Construction of vijay Transformers
The core is built up from non-ageing cold-rolled grain oriented silicon steel laminations, coated with oil and heat resistant insulated laminations. Stampings are mitered or semi mitered and then annealed to reduce losses.
Coil windings are designed to meet dynamic and thermal stress during operations as well as under short circuits. Coils are coated with electrolytic high conductivity paper covered copper or aluminum and duly dried in the electric oven.
Cooling ducts are provided to ensure the low temp-gradient between winding and oil to keep the hot spot temperature as low as possible.
Tappings are provided on the high voltage winding to cater either for high voltage or low voltage variations.
Tappings are adjusted by:-

Off-circuit links located on a terminal board for L.T. transformers

Off-circuit tap changer

On-load tap changers for power transformer to cater voltage variations when the transformer is on-load condition.

Tank Construction:
The transformer tanks are prepared out of mild steel and fitted with pressed steel radiator fins. As tanks are subjected to routine pressure tests, they are coated with two coats of weatherproof enamel paint. The interior is painted with oil resistant rust-preventive special primer.

Oil
Transformers are supplied with first fill of oil conforming to IS-335/1980

Route Testing
We also conduct routine test to assure the quality of our product. Our routine testing includes the following steps:

• Insulation resistance measurement.
• Measurement of voltage ratio and checking of voltage vector relationship
• Measurement of winding resistance
• No-load current and no-load loss rated voltage
• Measurement of voltage, impedance and load loss
• Separate surge voltage withstand test
• Induced voltage withstand test. (double voltage/double frequency)
• Test on oil samples for B.D.V.
• Oil leakage test for transformer tank
